In the article "Men confess what feminine things they'd do if stereotypes didn't exist" it talks about men being afraid to express how they really feel. The men interviewed said that they would like to be able to paint their nails, or wear skirts. I am unsure how accurate this survey is because I do not think that all men do not follow the masculine stereotype.
My brother and his fiancee will go get manicures or wear face masks. It is not feminine. My brother understands that there needs to be a balance between the two. A friend of mine that is trying to discover his gender preference told me that at a conference he went to they we helping them balance out their masculinity and femininity. This conference was a place where these guys that are all figuring their lives out could work together and try to understand themselves. I personally think that this friend and my brother are right. There are some stereotypes pertaining to gender that become hard to overcome.
On the feminine side, sports are for guys and same with t-shirts. I love t-shirts and it is not a feminine thing to wear. I believe that the only thing that stops us from breaking these stereotypes is ourselves. We can be out of the normal.
